I added a Brookhouse multiplexer with a Sea Talk to NMEA converter and USB connection. The unit works flawlessly. I can boot up the computer with data on the USB without the crazy mouse problem. Previeously I had a serial to USB converter receiving data from the gps. This had to be booted without data, start CE, then connect the gps.
