Is there any available software solution that allows the Routes created in CE-2 to be converted to a compatible format to load into a Garmin 4212 GPS / Plotter / Radar ?

The latest line of Garmin chart plotters do not support the "Garmin Transfer Protocol" which has been used to transfer routes and waypoints in the past.
However, according to their documentation, Garmin has finally added support for the NMEA 0183 RTE sentence which has been missing from all of their previous units.
This means you should be able to use Coastal Explorer to send routes directly to the Garmin, but you need to treat the chart plotter as a "generic" NMEA 0183 device instead of a "Garmin Protocol" device. Of course you will need a two-way connection between your PC and the chartplotter for this to work.
In the past it was also possible to export routes from Coastal Explorer to a "GPX" file and then import that using Garmin's software which would then save it to a memory card which could be inserted into the chartplotter. I've heard that Garmin removed support for GPX files in their newest software release so this might not be possible anymore.
Thank you - I will give it a try the next time I'm at the boat. I think I may be able to borrow a cable to try it. John
I have a mixed environment - a 3210 and a 4210. I can transfer routes to the 3210 without issue - is there any update on transfering to the 4210? I am using CE 1.1.8283
