I see a news article about downloading an app to synch Active
Captain to my CE 2009. The article sez togo to the Beta section to do
this. I find no mention of this download there. Help.
You can use ActiveCaptain with Coastal Explorer 2010 which is
currently in "beta" testing. You can sign up to access the
beta version on this page.
Once you've signed up for and installed the beta, this
article explains how to use ActiveCaptain.
I have installed the Active Captain add-on and I like it very
much. Can I turn off the Guide Book icons that come on the charts
when I click "Guide Book" tab at top of page? I don't know
if I inadvertently changed something. Prior to my installing the
Active Captain, the icons did not display on the chart (the picture
icons), at least I don't think they did. I may not have noticed as I
usually used the "Places" listing on the right side. What I
would like would be the Active Captain icons on the chart "Guide
Book" page, and the other items accessed via the
"Places" pop-up.

The "Show" menu on the Guide Book browser's toolbar lets you decide which guide book icons to show on the chart.
