About Sverre Magnus Berg

Born in 1947 in Hell in Norway, now lives on the West side of Oslo. Radio Operator in Royal Norwegian Navy, later Merchant Navy World Wide. University degree in Control Science UK. Worked for 37 years with Nera SatCom developing the first, second and third generations of SatCom terminals (hardware and software) until the company were acquired by the "enemy" and closed down. Early retirement. Married - two grown up kids with grand children. Have D5LA certificate (Deck Officer "Light" valid World Wide). Been sailing as a skipper in the Caribbean with guests from BWI to Trinidad. Owns a beautiful 33 ft Fjord Motorsailer from 1974 and mostly cruising the Norwegian South Coast, Sweden West Coast and Denmark East Coast. Planning to do trips all the way to the North Cape of Norway, Scotland, Shetland and the Faeroes. Take great interest in checking out navigation software and electronic chart systems.
