Weighed Anchor at Tod Inlet. Heading out into Saanich Inlet, headed for Henry Island. The kids left on the whaler this morning to get the crab pots we set a couple days ago. We got skunked today! Our crabbing skills are not up to snuff this time.

We are looking forward to getting back to Roche Harbor where we'll hopefully have some better crabbing luck, and have internet access so you can see what we've been up to!

I'm up early today. We think we have a good idea what's been happening with the refrigerator. We think it doesn't draw enough power when it's starting up, and the inverter goes to sleep, which restarts the startup cycle. Last night we left the microwave switch on as well to give the inverter a bit more load, and everything worked fine. Problem solved?

Well, woke up this morhing about 0800 and once again the refer was at 61 degrees, and the fridge at 32, way warmer than they should be. No clue why, yet. It wasn't the radio interference as we had suspected from before, since we didn't use that last night.

After messing with it for a while and starting the genset, we were able to get it to run again. My current thought is that it is related to the inverter not having enough load - as both nights it failed we made sure only the refer breaker was on, but other nights we had other breakers on. Maybe the refer, when it turns "off", doesn't present enough load to the inverter, and the inverter sleeps, and then the refer resets, and never gets "going". It's a theory at least.

Tonight we're going to leave the microwave and salon breakers on also to give the inverter something to "do", and see if that fixes it. Hopefully!
