And it is now in the 70s and 80s and really quite nice. The yellow pollen is finally ending. If anyone is looking to travel with us to MD early next month, now is the time to sign up for some cruising. Pick your dates; or pick your places (as usual, don't expect to pick both).
I'll be heading to Vegas for work in a few days. Not a bad diversion.

...and we have covered some ground! We are now back in Baltimore, having arrived this morning after a 25 hour non-stop run from Coinjock NC, accompanied for most of the way with JJ Dicks. It was a beautiful afternoon and evening. JJ joined us at the lock at Great Bridge, having spent the night with old roommate, John Dailey and his wife Kim. JJ had changed his plans for us, due to our own changes of plans most recently caused by a second failure of our exhaust elbow on the main engine (which somewhat surprisingly also caused a significant vibration at RPMs greater than 1200). We had a diver confirm no other damage and nothing stuck to our bottom and had a shop do the welding on Saturday for us. We have been in such a hurry as a consequence of three things: We had guests in Hilton Head during our last week there, then I had a business trip on the West Coast while Renee and Luca waited patiently in Wrightsville Beach, and we had the engine exhaust problem; all of which made it hard to return to Baltimore in time for the SmartCEO awards ceremony... but we did it.
Prior to all of that Maria and Mike Little spent a few wonderful days with us. It was so nice to see them again and to explore Savannah with them (as well as to check out the many restaurants in the HHI area!). Great friends; and so nice of them to take the time and travel so far to join us. We also had an AVIcode Board meeting on board. That was productive and included a very nice dinner together, with Debbie Lamar joining us as well. It has been a long time since we have spent some quality time with Debbie. We were glad she could make it.
Finally, there was the gathering of all of the "usual suspects" in Hilton Head. What a great place for man (us) and beast (Luca)! We were especially pleased to spend so much time with Bruce and Karen this year, getting to know them much better. But we also made many new friends, beginning friendships which we hope to nurture over the coming thousands of nautical miles and smiles.
Finally, note the great catch-- a black fin tuna caught with our new fishing gear (and new federal license). We are hoping to do this more often!
As always, pictures can be found at
