We just returned from cruising the coast of Maine again. This was a shorter trip then previous years so we stayed in Casco Bay most of the time. Found a few new places including the outstanding Sebago Harbor Resort. This is a five star stop if you have children in your crew.

While anchored off Great Chebeague Island we picked up an abandon fishing net while pulling the anchor and got it caught in the prop. Spent an hour underwater with scuba gear trying to cut it off and free the boat. All turned out well - good thing I had the scuba or we would have been in trouble.

Weathered a full gale on the way down to Annapolis from homeport, Northport, Long Island NY. Had two great crew with me, Gary & Rich from FDNY. The boat will be here until spring and then back north.

Wonderful little village that comes right down to the water. Anchor for free at the north end of the mooring field in heavy mud. Dinghy into the Town Dock and find a place on a floating dock with other dinks. Be advised it is illegal to tie up your dinghy without a season permit, but most of the time no one will notice. At worst, you will be asked to tie up to the pier which is dangerious as the 7.5 foot tide can trap the dink under it. A fantastic "Off-Broadway" theater is a short walk up Main Street. There are plenty of places to eat in town and a very fine bakery on Waterside Drive.
